Process Engineering Section Manager (m/f/d)
In this role you will play a central role in managing a section-level organization, leading a team of engineers and engineering technicians. Ensure smooth daily operations, improve team efficiency, and achieve organizational goals, while also developing team members' skills and fostering employee growth and teamwork.
As part of this position, you will have the unique opportunity to complete a comprehensive up to 9-month training assignment at our mother fab in Taiwan. This immersive program equips you with deep hands-on expertise in manufacturing processes, systems, production operations, and governance according to TSMCs word-leading practice — providing the foundation to operate independently and at expert level upon your return to Germany. The training will start shortly after the start date.

Job Responsibilities
- Process Optimization & Yield Enhancement: Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing process steps within the assigned department to ensure all products meet the highest standards of efficiency, yield, and quality.
- Domain Expertise & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Possess a deep understanding of process flows and concepts within the department. Apply this expertise to solve complex business issues and collaborate closely with internal process, equipment, integration engineering, and manufacturing teams to achieve departmental goals.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize diverse information sources—including cutting-edge industry research, domain trends, and vendor data—to evaluate complex situations. Analyze, prioritize, and interpret dynamic data to ensure seamless production, sharing accountability for product quality, quantity, and timely delivery.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a section-level organization, ensuring high-quality output and peak team performance. Actively influence departmental strategies and production processes.
- Stakeholder Communication & Vendor Management: Demonstrate exceptional internal and external communication skills. Collaborate closely with external suppliers, lead cross-functional initiatives, persuade and influence key stakeholders, and effectively manage complex or sensitive information.
Your profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (Master’s degree preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics/Applied Physics, Automation/Control Systems Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including several years in a leadership or people-management role.
- Leadership & Problem Solving: Proven track record of participating in or leading team projects and daily operations, with demonstrated strength in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong experience in cross-departmental collaboration and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
- Global Training: Ability and willingness to undergo on-the-job training in Taiwan for up to 9 months.
- Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English is required; German language capability is highly advantageous.
