Software Automation Engineer AMHS (m/f/d)

For our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and committed:  

Optimize the heartbeat of our production. As a Software Automation Engineer, you will support the control systems of our Automated Material Handling System (AMHS). You will ensure that millions of automated transport movements mesh seamlessly, help eliminate bottlenecks, and keep our highly automated production line running at maximum efficiency.  

Your Mission: Maintaining Performance Through Intelligent Control  

• System Tuning & KPI Support: Analyze transfer data and assist in optimizing system performance to achieve capacity targets and minimize process variability.
• System Integration: Support the seamless communication and data flow between the AMHS, production equipment, and higher-level factory control systems.
• Automation & Monitoring: Assist in designing KPI monitoring systems and implement software updates to reduce manual operator intervention.
• Project Execution: Participate in site projects focused on cost reduction and productivity increases—from development through to testing and go-live.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely within a team of technicians and engineers, actively learning from senior experts and contributing to a strong team spirit.
• Lifecycle & Validation: Validate new software features under supervision, support regular upgrades, and assist in the software setup of new fab installations.

Must Have  

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of database systems and software development technologies (C#, Java, Python, SQL, Oracle, or MS-SQL).
• Experience: Initial experience (e.g., through internships, university projects, or 1–2 years of work experience) in software automation, manufacturing systems, or IT.
• Methodology: Basic understanding of quality and problem-solving methods (e.g., SPC, FMEA).
• Personality: An adaptable team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and international environment.
• Languages: Fluency in English (our primary business language).
• Training: Willingness to complete an intensive on-the-job training program in Taiwan for 6 months to master our technologies.

• You are a proactive team player who combines solid technical knowledge with a highly analytical, hands-on approach. 

Nice to Have  

• Initial experience in the semiconductor industry or automated logistics.
• Basic communication skills in German or Mandarin.
