Mechatronics Technician – Fab Automation & AMHS (m/f/d)

Do you want to control the invisible lifeline of one of Europe’s most advanced semiconductor factories and share your knowledge at the same time? As a Mechatronics Technician – Fab Automation & AMHS (m/f/d), you will ensure that production never stands still. You will monitor, maintain, and optimize the fully automated transport systems that move our wafers through the cleanroom. In addition, you will establish new procedures and perform systematic root cause analysis to resolve malfunctions. As a technician, you enjoy exchanging ideas with other technicians, ensuring knowledge transfer within the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Continuous monitoring of the Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) via control platforms and GUIs to ensure a stable production flow.
  • Fast execution of first-line troubleshooting and maintenance work directly within the cleanroom environment (including working at heights and in confined spaces).
  • Performing systematic analysis of complex system errors and parameter deviations to resolve recurring problems sustainably.
  • Creation, adaptation and documentation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for continuous quality improvement.
  • Technical guidance, onboarding and further development of junior technicians during shift operations.
  • Controlling complex processes and planning material incoming flow based on the operational requirements of the fab.
  • Close cooperation with various departments to ensure maximum production efficiency and quality.
  • Ensuring a seamless shift handover through detailed documentation and summaries of all occurrences.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed vocational training, e.g., as a Mechatronics Technician, Electronics Technician for Automation Technology, Industrial Mechanic or a comparable technical qualification.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a technical field (e.g., semiconductor manufacturing, maintenance, automotive or logistics).
  • High quality and safety awareness, structured working style, reliability, as well as physical resilience in the cleanroom (lifting loads up to max. 20 kg with auxiliary equipment).

  • Good German language skills (B2) for safety and operational instructions, and basic English skills (B1) for technical documentation in an international environment.
  • Strong team orientation and willingness to actively share knowledge with junior colleagues.
  • Initial professional experience in a highly regulated cleanroom environment (e.g., semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or medical technology).
  • Experience with fully automated material flow systems, robotics, high-bay warehouses, or conveyor technology.
  • Knowledge in creating technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or training materials.
  • Willingness to work in a continuous shift system (day, late, night shift) as well as flexibility during operational bottlenecks.
  • Motivated and available for "on-the-job" Training in Taiwan for 6 months.
